Chew the Parrafin wax to simulate salivation for 5 minutes. |
Collect Saliva in measuring cup (saliva flow data is collected). |
Open the agar surface vial. |
Insert Sodium Bicarbonate tablet (Baking Soda) into the vial. This realeases CO2 into the vial for optimal anaerobic bacterial growth. |
Peel off the protective film of both S. mutans agar surface (blue) and Lactobacillus agar surface (green). |
Use the pippette to collect the saliva. |
Saturate both sides of the agar surfaces without touching or disturbing it. |
Use the measuring cup to collect the saliva that drips from the agar surface. |
Label the vial with personal information and CRT test date. |
Incubate the vial for 48 hours at 37 degrees celsius. |
Compare bacteria colony growth with the chart. |
